"Planning the logical endgame"
"One size does not fit all."
We understand that no single approach will work for every client. Some clients engage our services at the beginning of a project, before plans are fully formed, while other clients will call upon our expertise somewhere between the completion of the strategic plan and the implementation phase.
Although we perform most efficiently with those clients who have a recognized need or problem to solve and who possess a sense of urgency, in reality, there are situations where a client needs help in defining and articulating their vision. In a complex fast changing environment, decisions may need to be made with incomplete information. Providing clarity and managing ambiguity are where our services can be most valuable. We can offer our arsenal of tools and a fresh perspective.
Distinctive Competencies: Our competencies developed from three distinct spheres of experience. Years of working at the highest level of government, reporting and being accountable directly to the California Attorney General, advising state and county elected officials, department directors, community leaders and stakeholders required diligence and a commitment to excellence. We have routinely met high expectations and exacting standards.
The second critical area of experience was gained while working with the private sector. Drawing on interactions with senior executives and staff who put into action the vision designed at the top, provided valuable insight into leadership as practiced at the top of private enterprise. Observing those leaders in action honed our ability to clarify strategic and operational goals, and the know-how to mobilize effective teams when pursuing core institutional change.
Finally, the third domain which has been the foundation of our subject matter expertise was and continues to be, the area of academia. We learned to value what many others practitioners underestimate – that using science in the service of criminal justice is the most effective means to reduce recidivism and by extension, the high rate of incarceration in our jails and prisons. Rigorous academic research has made an invaluable contribution to the criminal justice field in the last 25 years and we take full advantage of that scholarly work. We place a high priority on the utilization of proven methods that analyze the right data, and measure outcomes.
